Paper Co‑Authored by Tamura Researcher Accepted for Presentation at IPEC 2026
Tamura Corporation (Headquarters: Nerima-ku, Tokyo; President & COO: Mitsutaka Nakamura; hereinafter "the Company") announces that a research paper authored by a researcher from the Sendai Advanced Laboratory, established by the Company at Tohoku University, has been accepted for presentation at the IEEE International Power Electronics Conference (Integration of Power conversion, Electric machine, and Control ASIA, hereinafter ” IPEC 2026”) (Note 1).
IPEC 2026 is one of the largest international conferences in the field of power electronics in Asia. It serves as a forum for discussion of the latest technologies in areas such as power conversion, motor drive systems, electrical machines, and power control, all of which are expected to play a critical role in addressing global energy and environmental challenges.
The accepted paper, titled “Development of Low Leakage Inductance Transformer Using Multilayer Flexible Printed Circuit Folding Coil,” summarizes the results of Japan’s MEXT “Innovative Power Electronics Creation Core Technology Research and Development Project” (Note 2), led by Tohoku University. The researcher from the Sendai Advanced Laboratory serves as the first author and will deliver an oral presentation.
The multilayer flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) coils incorporate the Company’s proprietary PCB lamination technology. Compared with conventional wound planar transformers with similar performance, this approach achieves a 20% reduction in board area while reducing leakage inductance to one-thirtieth.

At the Sendai Advanced Laboratory, the Company is actively promoting joint research and development with Tohoku University, aiming to create new magnetic passive components and power module insulation materials differentiated at the material level, capable of supporting high-efficiency, high-power, and high-frequency operation compatible with wide bandgap semiconductors.
Under its 14th Medium-Term Management Plan, “One TAMURA for Next 100,” the Company has identified the clean energy market as a key focus area. To contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society, the Company will continue its efforts to establish a technological foundation that will support its next century and to create new pillars of business.
