Since its establishment on October 1, 2025, the Advanced Power Electronics Co-creation Research Center has promoted the exploration of research themes by leveraging Tohoku University’s resources to the fullest and conducted R&D aimed at creating core technologies for next-generation power electronics. It has also encouraged the participation of young researchers in joint research and fostered highly skilled R&D personnel, including doctoral candidates who are working professionals.
At the kickoff meeting, participants gathered to share research results from the past six months, including presentations by young researchers. They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to pursuing common goals, while discussing the three-year activity plan and collaboration among Tohoku University, Tamura, and other co-creation research laboratories.
Through the “Tamura × Tohoku Univ. Advanced Power Electronics Co-creation Research Center,” the Company will further advance the development of core technologies for next-generation power electronics and deepen industry–academia collaboration. Focusing on higher current, higher voltage, and higher frequency, the Company will work to create high-frequency magnetic devices for the clean energy–related markets* that continue to evolve.
In addition, by cross-functionally advancing multiple foundational technologies—including materials, power electronics circuits, and packaging—under the One TAMURA initiative, the Company aims to develop high-frequency magnetic devices that deliver high efficiency and reliability, and to expand their use across a wide range of applications.

*Note: The Company’s focus markets comprise four areas: power infrastructure, heavy industry, next-generation communications, and mobility.
