The SDGs Promotion Team at the Sakado Factory received a commendation for their contributions to improving the road environment
The Sakado Factory SDGs Promotion Team of Tamura Corporation (Headquarters: Nerima-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Mitsutaka Nakamura; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") was honored by the Japan Road Association as a recipient of the Road Meritorious Service Award on August 10, 2025—Japan’s “Road Day.” "Doro Kourousha" which means "Road Meritorious Service Person" on August 10, 2025, "Road Day" in Japan.

This award is presented by the Japan Road Association to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to road maintenance, protection, and beautification.
At the Sakado Factory, volunteer members known as the SDGs Promotion Team (“the Team”) began cleanup activities around the site in the spring of 2020, including picking up litter during lunch breaks. In April 2021, the Team registered with Tsurugashima City’s “Road and Waterfront Supporter System.” They then removed the existing sidewalk plantings in front of the main gate and replaced them with flower beds managed by the Team. These flower beds are maintained weekly, with flowers and seeds provided by the Team.
This initiative was recommended by Tsurugashima City, which oversees the road in front of the Sakado Factory, and was approved by Saitama Prefecture, leading to the receipt of this award.
We will continue to maintain and enhance the aesthetics of the area—creating an environment that employees can take pride in and feel motivated to work in—and contribute to the development of the local community through our ongoing activities.
